The Ask

Create a trend forecast for Spring/ Summer 2025, that includes fabrics, prints/patterns, and looks based off of a chosen zeitgiest.

The Process

In preparing our S/S 2025 forecast, my team and I evaluated the current zeitgeist and its potential influence on forthcoming industry trends. Over the course of several months, our team conducted thorough research, laying the groundwork for our predictions in the realm of trends.

Drawing on Retro Futuristic art and nostalgic tech, while incorporating chrome, metal, and blue, with unsettling images of robots, humanoids, and body parts for a dystopian touch, Virtual Insanity depicts how the fictional future is not too far away.

Color Palette

Our color palette combines a mixture of hues that represent the technological dystopia to come with colors that we believe will gain prominence to combat this negative energy. The images and makeup of this display are meant to represent the chaos or “insanity” of this new virtual world.

Made in the United States that is known for its high durability from the 2X2 basket weave. This material is complementary to the zeitgeist attributed as rebellious, aggressive, and persistence due to the high abrasion resistance element.
Derived from organic mushrooms, this more sustainable form of leather is a great alternative to the eco-conscious generation. Mylo does not have as much weight as animal leather, as 40% of it is fat liquors or plasticizers.

Runway Looks

Metallics evoke a cool and artificial ambiance, contributing to their association with futuristic aesthetics. The fully metallic dresses embody a sense of high-tech sophistication and modernism, aligning seamlessly with our futuristic theme.

While black remains a timeless color due to its sleek and neutral qualities, it undergoes a transformation in leather dresses, emerging as a cornerstone of our trend. When envisioning the future, people often draw inspiration from movies like Alien and The Matrix. Therefore, in a trend rooted in futuristic perceptions, it's inevitable that some of these influences will come into play.
